About this Anchorage

Isla Pelada offers a number of good anchorages overlooking Hornopiren and its volcanos. We anchored in the north east anchorage, which is close to the town, and is secure in anything except north easterlies.
Ashore, there are basic provisioning options, nice restaurants, and plenty of hiking options.
If going ashore, you can tie up to the floating dock in your dinghy, this is owned by a private company, so check if it's ok with the security guard in the cabin to the right ashore.
There are a few groceries and fruterias offering basic supplies near the main square, which also has a nice wooden church. There are numerous waterfalls which can be reached by foot from the town, they are a nice walk, but don't compare to the view's you'll get from nearby anchorages.
Anchoring Notes
We anchored in NE anchorage. Approach straight in, as there are a number of rocks awash at low tide just out from the entrance on the south side.

We dropped the hook in 25ft, and backed down to a fishing line which was running accross the bay and stern tied to that.
