About this Anchorage

Tembobichi (sometimes spelled Tembabichi) is a bay a few miles long, and is the first anchorage with any northerly protection north of mangle solo on your way to agua verde. There is a small lagoon you can explore via kayak, or dinghy at high tide, and the "Casa Grande" is a ruined mansion house built from the fortunes of a giant pearl.

The bay itself is long and sandy, which makes for a nice walk along the beach, there is a small village (no tienda or restaurants, but you might be able to buy some fish) around the distinctive casa grande.

There is some protection from the northerly swell, but you can't get close in to really escape the swell, so in strong northerly weather it's not a good overnight stop.

Anchoring Notes

Anchor in 15-25ft over sand in the north west corner of the bay, swell will wrap around in bad weather, but in most cases this will be adequate protection from northerly weather.

In calm conditions you can anchor anywhere in the open roadstead that forms the bay.
