About this Anchorage

Another perennial favorite of ours, San Juanico has lots on offer. We also use this as a good jumping off point when crossing over to San Carlos, and a stop over on the way north from Loreto.

Ashore there is a cruisers shrine, excellent hiking around the area, we often leave the boat and camp on one of the rocky hills nearby to catch the sunrise in the morning and stargaze.

In calm weather exploring by kayak and dinghy make for a great excursion, especially around the rock pillars in the south which all have good snorkeling and fishing as does the isolated rock nearby.

There is generally good snorkeling around the rocky outcrops and islets too.

Protection is great from the north, but in southerly weather we bug out around the corner to Ramada cove.

Anchoring Notes

We normally anchor in 15-20ft between the rock pillars in the north end. If that's full we anchor to the west of them in 20ft over sand.
