About this Anchorage
Another perennial favorite of ours, Punta Las Animas is a snug little bay with room for just a handful of boats. The good news is that it's almost always empty anyway.
We typically spend at least a night here when heading along the coast to or from Bay of LA.
There's a nice short hike up the hill onto the cliffs which affords a great view over the anchorage and along the coast.
In the water there's good snorkeling around the shore.
Anchoring Notes
We typically anchor in the west bay, in about 20ft over sand. Watch out for the rocky outcrop from the shore in the south east corner.
There are also a number of rocks at the entrance, so as always check your pilotage books before entering.
