About this Anchorage
Punta arena is a good anchorage in calm or southerly winds, along a white sandy beach with a nice view out over La Ventana and Isla Ceralvo. (Jacques Cousteau)
This is a good anchorage when the swell is too bad to get into Muertos, or for access to La Ventana.
There is cell service, although its pretty weak.
Anchoring Notes
Anchor in 20ft close to the beach. You can anchor anywhere along the bay, i've anchored in the easterly point, but it can get more rocky there so set a trip line.
The current is quite strong here, so you can often sit beam on to the wind waves which can be a bit annoying, either set a stern anchor or move further around the bay.
