Santa Barbara is the southern most cove in the main set of bays around Playa Burro and Santispac in Bahia Conception. We like it because its small and cosy, with a nice quiet beach, and plenty going on nearby. It's open to the north which makes this more suited to summer southerly weather than wintertime however.
From the anchorage its a short dinghy ride or kayak out to the islands for a bit of snorkeling. At the entrance to the bay there's a sunken sailboat - it's mostly just an outline in the sand now, but it usually has plenty of fish swimming around.
We dinghy over to Burro for hiking or just to do some people watching.
Anchoring Notes
We anchor in 20ft a good way off the beach (which has jejenes) - it's shoal on the west side, and deeper on the east closer to the cliffs.
Check your pilotage notes and the various charts in the guidebooks for depths on the approach - the electronic charts we have were useless, and the paper charts didn't have any real detail of the area either.
