An open roadstead with cell service, bars, restaurants, sports fisherman and usual cabo douchery.
Not a huge fan of Los Barriles, the coast is nice, but its just an open roadstead with lots of private moorings around. The town does have a decent grocery store, and lots of amenities though. I've used it as a stop to pick up crew, supplies and lunch, and there is good internet available.
Prices and attitudes reflect its proximity to the resort town of Cabo, it's a good lunch stop on the way south to cabo pulmo.
Anchoring Notes
Anchor just off the beach on a sand shelf, you'll need to pick your way through the private moorings, and it can feel very close to the beach in any kind of swell.
Stern anchor probably advised if you are staying any length of time. Landing on the beach is easy enough but don't underestimate the surf from the afternoon thermals.
The beach is backed by houses and apartments which can make it dificult to get to the road, so you may want to dinghy along until you find an opening.
