Gonzagas Pesos refer to the various lobed bays on the south side of Punta Willard. All offer reasonable protection from most of the prevailing weather, although Bahia Willard offers the best protection in any kind of storm, and is used as a hurricane hole by many cruisers.
These anchorages offer easy access to the main shore via dinghy if you want to visit the small store at Rancho Grande, or the restaurant at Alfonsinas.
Kayaking in and around the bay makes for a fun activity.
Anchoring Notes
Anchor in 20ft over sand anywhere in the various lobes. We couldn't find shallow water in the northern lobe at a distance to shore we were comfortable with, but in the lower three we found nice spots with ease.
You can also anchor anywhere along the beach in calm weather.
