About this Anchorage
Lobos is a great alternative to Balandra in bad weather, its pretty well protected from the north, south and to a lesser degree from the westerlies in the evening.
Ashore there are a bunch of hiking trails, which link up to those around Balandra, and visually it's prettier than Pichelingue, but you can dinghy round there in relatively calm conditions if you want to grab some food or take the bus into La Paz.
Anchoring Notes
We prefer the southern lobe, as it has pretty good northerly protection, as well as protection from the south. We anchor in 20ft over sand well into the bay. Strictly speaking you are not allowed to anchor all the way in here, but it doesn't seem to be enforced. We try to keep as far out as we can out of respect for the rules.
The northern lobe has better protection from the northerly swell, but it's shallower, which limits how far in you can get.
