About this Anchorage
Marquer is a decent southerly anchorage, which is conveniently close to Loreto, Puerto Escondido and Isla Danzante. It doesn't have the natural beauty and protection of Balandra, but it can be a handy stopover all the same.
I waited out southerly weather here for a couple of days in summer 2020, and it was a big improvement over Balandra as far as the bees went, and it was an easy trip into Loreto to resupply once things calmed down.
You can pick up reasonable cell service from Loreto here too.
Anchoring Notes
We anchor in 20ft off the beach. There's lots of room, and its a simple entrance which makes it easier than Balandra if you are arriving at night.
