Bahia El Gato (The northern lobe) and Bahia El Toro (Southern Lobe) form a smallish bay surrounded in sand dunes and beautiful red sandstone cliffs. There is good snorkeling around the various reefs, and some hiking possibilities ashore.
This bay is popular with campers, and is a beautiful overnight stop on the way north or south.
Southerly weather tends to wrap around into the bay, but there is reasonably good shelter from northerly wind and swell, especially if you tuck in.
Anchoring Notes
There are a number of reefs at the entrance and extending out from the cliffs between the two lobes, be extra sure to consult your charts before entering here.
Anchor in 20ft over sand in either of the lobes. It's exposed from the east, which can be a problem in strong southerly weather, but in northwesterly good protection is available in the northwest corner.
